Ski Forms

We are excited to be offering skiing to the students and families of Alix Mac again this year!  It was such a huge success last year and so nice to see a lot of the parents come out to join in the fun!

**NOTE:  There are a few changes from last year.  We are no longer doing pre-paid meal vouchers, but the cafeteria will be serving food for purchase.  Also, because of the new billing system at Canyon, we will be unable to give refunds for cancellations made 3 days prior to ski day.

The packages and pricing have changed a bit from last year to hopefully make things a bit more simple, so please look over the forms, fill them out, and return them to the school as soon as possible.  The last day to hand in forms and payment will be January 8, 2020.  We are unable to offer busing, so parents will be responsible for getting their kids to and from the hill.

A supervisor will be at the hill by 11:30am.  Families are welcome to arrive anytime after that (lift tickets will not be available until 12:00) and stay as long as you want.  The hill closes at 9:00pm.  Lessons will start at 1:00pm with “Never Ever” and “Beginner Level 1”, followed by “Intermediate” and “Expert” around 2:00.  Please arrive at least 1 hour ahead of your scheduled lesson time to be through the rental shop and ready to go.  If you arrive late for your lesson, you will miss out.  At the conclusion of each lesson, the students will receive instructions on which areas of Canyon they should remain and continue to practice the skills taught.

**Please be sure to fill out the liability waiver and return it to the school.  All skiers / snowboarders need to hand one in.

Lessons:  ** Please don’t forget to mark the lesson level on the registration form.**

  • Canyon strongly encourages everyone to take a lesson (included in the weekday price)
  • Lesson duration is approximately one hour based on the student’s ability level and needs.
  • They offer four (4) different levels of lessons for all ability levels

Never Ever  - Non-Skier/Non-snowboarder.  First time or less than 5 times trying skiing/snowboarding.

Beginner Level  1 – Ski/snowboard conservatively.  Prefer slow speeds.  Prefer easy, beginner slopes.  Favor lower than average release/retention settings.

Intermediate Level 2  - Ski/snowboard moderately.  Prefer a variety of speeds.  Ride on a varied terrain, including                  Intermediate trails. Must be able to ride a triple chair.

Expert Level 3 – Ski/snowboard aggressively.  Normally ski at higher speeds.  Prefer steeper and more challenging terrain.  Favor higher than average release/retention settings.  Can ride all runs.

For safety reasons, all participants 5 years and under, MUST be taught in a private lesson, if lessons are required. Private lessons are at an additional cost of $50/hour.
