Alix MAC School Council
The vision of our School Council is to promote and encourage positive parent, student, teacher, and community interaction. This interaction is aimed to challenge, grow, and inform all participants. It will encourage participation and provide plenty of opportunity for participants to give feedback into school processes, be aware of what’s going on in the school, and provide engaging workshops that support growth and learning.
Our School Council will have 3 planning meetings per year. Once in October (our AGM will also be at this meeting), January, March, and June (It will still be the first Wed of these three months at 7pm in the Alix MAC school library). These meetings will be active, full of brainstorming, planning, and interacting together as a team (and will include some yummy themed munchies too!). Along with this, we are aiming to fill up the school calendar with great monthly events that fall within the categories listed below that support our vision:
- Promoting Community Spirit and Unity
- Workshops/Presentations that encourage parents, teachers, and students
- Teacher Lead events which help promote a greater understand of classroom activities
We will be advertising our events through the School Newsletter, handouts that will go home with students, and on our Facebook Page. Please follow us on FB by searching: Alix MAC School Council.
